Career-related website

Something that I like and that calls my attention a lot about the trees, are the colors and veins that some species can have. To know some of these species I sometimes resort to the website The Wood Database (https://www.wood-database.com/about/), which is a kind of virtual xiloteca with some of the best known woods, where it also indicates the physical, chemical and mechanical characteristics of each one.

The truth is that very few times I have resorted to this website in search of information that would help me in the university, as it is not a page that shows scientific support. Rather, I have used it to marvel at how beautiful and strange some woods can be.

This website was created by Eric Meier in 2008, with the help of the Wood Handbook: Wood as an Engineering Material, Tropical Timbers of the World, a large collection of woodbooks and other diverse resources on the Internet, made possible the official launch of the website.

Below you can see in the photographs some of the examples of how different, strange, but beautiful, some of the woods can be.
